In the middle of photographing a number of dancers from the Semperoper Ballett, Julia Weiss stepped into my studio.

As she started to perform for me, I was so taken with the way she could contort her body and express herself physically. I quickly changed the lighting from what we were doing, in order to work with the raw way in which she moved. This is a stand alone series, a singular moment in time.
